Natasha Watkins who does kumite classes with her coach Marc Leacock was selected to compete for the A.m.a national squad at the Wukf world karate championships which were held in Dublin, there were over 2000 competitors at the event.
Natasha's first event was in the 3 person mini cadet ippon kumite team category where they fought extremely well to reach the final where they won the silver medal.
Natasha then competed in the individual category and after several hard fought matches, she got through to the final of the mini cadet ippon kumite, the bout was fought at a furious pace with both girls wanting to become the world champion, but on this occasion Natasha had to settle for the silver medal.
This is the first time Natasha has fought at international level, making it an amazing achievement.
